We asked, you answered.

How would you describe yourself?

33 years old, born in Berlin, Arabic-German, producer, caring for my mother after stroke, cat person, gardening

Imagine you are 72, 80 or even 99 years old: How and with whom do you live together?

Hopefully with other people, whether they are family or friends. As I am currently living with my mother again myself, I find it a nice prospect to experience this part of a new mother-daughter relationship. Hopefully I live in the countryside, barrier-free, in a community, maybe not necessarily in a flat-share setting, but still within possible walking distance of each other.

Who are the most important people in your life and how do you spend time with them?

My children, my friends, neighbours, social network.

Children: not only at the usual festivals and holidays, but a togetherness also in everyday life, self-determined and with great social participation. I don’t want to feel an outcast, pushed away and annoying in my old age, but integrated with my children and strongly connected with my circle of friends.

What is your sex and love life like in the future?

Exciting, respectful, loving

How do you manage to stay mentally and physically fit?

I want to stay physically fit, I want to take part in what is happening socially, politically and creatively. Learn new things, see a lot, travel, sports, hiking, gardening

How do you afford everyday life in the future?

Hopefully through a secured minimum pension, my own pension and private provisions, perhaps with a property (though fairly and socially sublet in the city) and I can also live rent-free in the countryside

In the future, what do you get up for in the morning?

Be involved in voluntary work. Nevertheless for myself as well, to experience every day to the fullest and not postpone anything.

If you had to tell a young friend about all the things you’ve done right while ageing and would thus recommend to them… What would they be?

If you keep moving and always face new things, good things happen to you!
