Who am I?
I am medium height, medium age, and privileged (even though I am a foreigner). I like the sea and the mountains but I still live in Berlin.
Why am I interested in tourism?
I think first comes my interest in tourism and then my explanation for it. I have an inexplicable interest in tourism. I’m sure it comes from the facts that I come from a tourist country, love to travel, and at the same time knowing that the climate catastrophe is advancing. Or it simply comes from the fantasy journeys of my childhood.
Dear…,
I have just travelled around the world and made a detour to the moon. I can only tell you: it’s dreamlike.
There are many exciting people hanging around. It’s just the right mix of travellers, tourists and other people who live here. It’s neither crowded nor empty. Small local shops are happy to welcome new people, but basically live well and independent of visitors.
Nature has recovered so incredibly well in the last decades. Global community efforts have had a positive effect. The climate targets have even been exceeded. The air is clean, the soil alive, the water pure. And there are so many opportunities to travel sustainably – a dream come true.

Wishes and hopes behind the image of the future:
1. “For the future of tourism I hope that…”
tourism is equally good for everyone: the tourists, the people working in tourism, all the people and the environment around them.
2. “If I could wish for anything at all, I would…”
wish to try out many good ideas, involve different people and develop good solutions with a healthy mix of pragmatism, practical application and science.
3. “If I were a powerful politician, I would…”
network well and advance participation processes. Many know more than one.
