How would you describe yourself?

Imagine you are 72, 80 or even 99 years old: How and with whom do you live together?

I live with my partner in the house I currently live in in the countryside and we are part of a neighbourhood care network.

Who are the most important people in your life and how do you spend time with them?

My partner, with whom I live together, my friends whom I see during visits twice a year, my nieces who come to visit me, my neighbours with whom I socialise in the village.

What is your sex and love life like in the future?

Not very sexual and very affectionate with my partner and, perhaps, with an extra person.

How do you manage to stay mentally and physically fit?

Working in the garden every day, feeding the chickens, walking the dog, hiking in the mountains. For the mind, I might use a brain training app.

How do you afford everyday life in the future?

With a universal minimum income and by being self-sufficient as much as possible.

In the future, what do you get up for in the morning?

Seeing my garden sprout, keeping my animals, loving my friends, partner and family, fighting to build community.

If you had to tell a young friend about all the things you’ve done right while ageing and would thus recommend to them… What would they be?

Invest time and effort in finding out what makes you happy and what hurts you. Once you are clear on that, prioritise your efforts on those positive things. Spoiler alert: money is always cross-cutting: decide as soon as possible how to get it in the least harmful way possible.
