Sustainability-ID instead of passport

Who am I?

I am 31, living in Berlin, male, in a partnership, marital status: 1 quite normal family (with potatoes on Sunday), freelancer.

Dear mom,

Remember I told you that I recently read a non-fiction book about Darwin? Now I’ve decided to travel to the Galapagos Islands to see these wonders with my own eyes. Good thing I still have enough points in my sustainability account. The sales job at Roboto inc really paid off. I also really need to thank Rosalinde again for the recommendation.

Actually, my friend Uwe also wanted to come. It’s a shame that he recently drove around in an old car, an “SUV”. The police caught him and now he has to pay for every gram of CO2. They deducted an entire month’s salary from his sustainability account for it. He then jokingly said that he could fly with the flying bike and pedal himself. But I don’t think they’ll let him into the park without points.

I’m really looking forward to this trip and have already brainstormed with a few friends from Vietnam and Senegal. They recently visited me in Germany. I can really hardly believe that I can go there. Say hello to Klaus. I met him the other day in a pub in Second Life.

See you soon, B.

Wishes and hopes behind the image of the future:

1. “For the future of tourism I hope that…

people travel to gain new perspectives on their own lives far away, and they don’t travel to simply recover from their boring lives.

2. “If I could wish for anything at all, I would…

wish for an aircraft that uses greenhouse gases as fuel to clean the air while flying. And that more people from distant countries come to Germany for vacation. And that tourists leave nature the way they found it.

3. “If I were a powerful politician, I would…

strengthen tourism at home and make travel to non-European countries less attractive. I would also abolish normal passports and introduce a sustainability passport. And only with this would I be allowed to enter certain regions as a tourist.
