We asked, you answered.
How would you describe yourself?
I am 35 years old, I like nature and plants, I love animals although I don’t have a pet at the moment, I was born in Tenerife, I studied Labour Relations and I work in an office as a labour advisor.
Imagine you are 72, 80 or even 99 years old: How and with whom do you live together?
I live in a country house, probably with my partner. Since we are retired I take care of my plants and trees. I also have chickens and some wild cats, who come looking for food. From time to time my nephews and nieces come to visit, and my friends spend a lot of time with me, having barbecues. I enjoy their company.
Who are the most important people in your life and how do you spend time with them?
My wife, my siblings and my friends. We still meet every week.
What is your sex and love life like in the future?
My wife and I are affectionate with each other and have an active sex life. The doctors say it’s good for us to keep active.
How do you manage to stay mentally and physically fit?
After getting my operation – I had a pig pancreas put in – I didn’t have to use insulin anymore. Now I walk a lot and I still go to the gym so I’m strong as a rock.
How do you afford everyday life in the future?
I have a normal pension, but I was also smart enough to invest my money well. I have tenants who pay rent which gives me a good economic return and the savings plan I made in my youth allows me to have a comfortable life. I also grow avocados in my country house. They are not as expensive as they were back in 2022, as now it is the only fruit that is grown on the islands. Its excessive cultivation has taken over everything else, even potatoes… What do you know…
In the future, what do you get up for in the morning?
Spending time with my friends, reading and studying History. I signed up for a degree, I’ve always wanted to do that.
If you had to tell a young friend about all the things you’ve done right while ageing and would thus recommend to them… What would they be?
Always keep a positive attitude towards life, no matter what happens, you will be able to get out of anything. Have fun, spend time with the people you love, do things with your friends, love your family. Love a lot, respect others and help everyone you can. Take some time for yourself, too: If you feel like being alone once in a while, do it, and then meet up with someone and have a few beers.
